New Year Tips for Food Trucks

Happy New Year! 2016 had its ups and downs and everything in between. It's day one 2017, time to think about how to make this year great for yourself and your food truck business! Nobody understand your business better than you to, but we thought we would share some tips and ideas that may help make your new year one to remember.

  • Consider healthier menu items. Nearly half of new years resolutions involve health and losing weight. If you aren't offering healthy options especially in the first quarter of 2017, you're probably going to lose business while your clients lose pounds. Save the loaded fries for the second quarter when resolutions start to fizzle...
  • Build your network before it gets busy. The busy season will be here before you know it. It's easy to get distracted, but try allocating time now to network with venues, organizers and other food trucks to set up your spring and summer to be even better than 2016.
  • Tune up your truck. Now is the time to take care of your money maker. Get your equipment checked, cleaned and ready to hum into 2017. We take A LOT of equipment breakdown claims in the summer. Some of these claims may have been avoidable with a little extra TLC in the winter. Sometimes a $100 part can fail a put you out of work for days causing thousands in lost business. Yes, OUR policy pays for equipment breakdown and loss of business income, but having a claim is no fun and could affect your future insurance rates.
  • Build your empire. We insure and speak with hundreds of food truck owners across the country. Most have bigger goals than owning just one truck. Many want to go on to open restaurants, own a large fleet of trucks or both. Start planning your empire now. Hire out professionals if you need help, no one gets to the top alone. Swallow your pride, open your checkbook and ask for help if you want to grow.

2017 is here, get your hustle on starting today! If you need help growing and protecting your empire, give us a shout! We love helping food trucks from start-ups to multi-location restaurants. It's happened for others and can happen for you if you want it and work for it. Make 2017 a year to remember!
